This piece features some of my favorite medicinals for tending to our heart, both physically and energetically.

Hibiscus, Rose, Tulsi, and Cacao can all be used in herbal preparations to aid with a range of physical symptoms that may affect the heart. But all of these plants have profound energetic effects on our heart as well. Consuming but also touching, smelling, and sitting with these allies can help to awaken and open our hearts~ we can unfurl ourselves in their presence, letting our guard down and letting the love in.
When I paint plants, I make a point to consume them (so long as it’s safe to do so) as I paint them to help embody some of their energy and transmute that energy into my work. This was a really yummy painting to work on. I also added a drop of rose water that I made from Maine beach rose that I collected over the summer to my paint water, just because. I hope some of this sweetness is felt by you.

Heart medicine feels really important right now. When does it not though? If our world leaders could just open their hearts a little, we would live in a more peaceful place for all.

~Printed on archival LINEN paper! This paper is lighter weight than the typical matte papers I use, but the texture of the linen mimics that of the original canvas, so I'm really excited about this new option.
